Celebrating 80 Years of Bowyer Engineering Ltd

On St George’s Day 2026, we proudly celebrated 80 years of Bowyer Engineering. A milestone that fills us all with pride. Reaching eight decades is no small achievement, and it is only possible because of the dedication of its staff, the loyalty of our customers, and the strong values that have guided us since 1946. We will be marking the occasion with our team and many of the customers who have been part of our journey.

Bowyer Engineering Limited was founded in Clerkenwell in 1946, and in 1969, as our machining capabilities expanded and opportunities grew, we relocated to a new greenfield site in Andover at what is now known as Walworth Business Park. This move was part of a London overspill agreement.

We are especially proud of our long-standing partnership of more than 60 years with Rolls-Royce, who remain one of our largest and most valued customers. Over the decades we have also built enduring relationships with other respected organisations including JLR, RCV Engines, FTT, Boom Supersonic and QinetiQ. These partnerships reflect the trust placed in us and the consistently high standards our team delivers.

This year’s celebration is made even more meaningful as we also mark the retirement of the owner Michael Bowyer. Michael’s contribution to the business spans decades of commitment, leadership and dedication. His knowledge, integrity and unwavering belief in quality engineering have helped shape the company into what it is today.
